Flames forward and potential UFA David Moss has been locked up long term by the club. A 3 year deal has been reportedly agreed upon and while financial details were not disclosed, the Calgary Herald has one source reporting his yearly salary to be in the $1.3M range.
6’3″, 205 lbs
79GP, 20G-18A-38PT, -7, 22PIM
2008/09 NHL salary – $575,000 2009/10 salary – $1,300,000 (EST)
Moss is a a relatively young player who is still learning the NHL game and what his own capabilities are within it. In his third and first full season (he played in 41 games in his first two seasons) Moss has established career highs in games played, goals and points, cracking the 20 goal barrier for the first time. His willingness to take punishment in front of the net is a big reason why his goal totals shouldn’t go down in the future but go up.
Hockey girlfriends and female Flames fans alike can take solace now knowing that David Moss and Matthew Lombardi won’t be leaving town in the same year.
