Dion Phaneuf will not play in game six
Dion Phaneuf will not be available to help his Calgary Flames win tonight with the team on the brink of elimination.
Phaneuf left game five on Saturday in the third period after colliding with Chicago’s Troy Brouwer and knocking heads with the blackhawk rearguard, he did not return.
“Our heads did collide and I think (he was) not ready for it, he’s not able to brace himself and that’s why it stunned him I guess,” Brouwer said when interviewed this morning.
“He’s not available,” says Flames coach Mike Keenan
Obviously Phaneuf is suffering from some concussion symptoms which is too bad. Best to shut it down.
Flame’s brass say Phaneuf’s status is day to day.
